The UCLA Immunogenetics Center's program, Current Topics in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, is approved by the American Board for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (#2003-03), by the State of California (#0085) and by the State of Florida (#JP000480) for continuing education credits.
Seminars are provided by Immunogenetics Center faculty, lead technologists and supervisors as well as UCLA faculty from other divisions. Presentation of teleconference audiotapes and slides from "Current Topics in Histocompatibility and Transplantation for Technologists" sponsored by the Georgetown University Hospital are included in the Immunogenetics Center Program. Each seminar is 1-1 ½ hours in length.
Faculty lectures focus on current research in the fields of transplantation and transplant immunology. Faculty and staff provide basic lectures in immunology, immunogenetics, and histocompatibility testing designed to prepare technicians for the ABHI Certified Histocompatibility Technologist and Specialist examinations.
The lectures are held at the Immunogenetics Center. Participants receive certificates with the CEU's earned for attending the seminars and this information is reported to the ABHI.
